Hi, I’m Cassandra. I’m a renal dietitian determined to empower my patients to be confident and successful in their journey towards kidney health. I love sharing ways to eat without fear and enabling my patients to make confident everyday life choices that benefit their kidneys.
I have always been fascinated by the kidneys for the extraordinary amount of work such small organs perform to sustain life. Being a kidney donor to my own sister further deepened my respect and appreciation for the kidneys.
As a dietitian, I love everything related to food. My parents owned a seafood and produce market, so as a young girl I became very efficient in the preparation of food from farm and ocean to table before it became a slogan. I'm still really good at descaling, gutting, and filleting a fish, which comes in handy as seafood is one of my favorite foods. I am a grocery store fanatic and can spend hours there. I also enjoy teaching healthy eating and cooking in my community.)
Aside from food, I also love traveling, taking long walks, and gardening. I am a sports girl - any and every kind of competitive sport interest me, but football is my favorite.
My strength is in making connections with people on a personal level. I enjoy listening to their stories and learning about their personalities. I believe it allows me to better assist them to reach their goals.
It is extremely rewarding for me to witness my patients improve their quality of life from growing in their ability and confidence in making food choices to support their kidney health.
